Speaking of anime endings, it's shades of Bakemonogatari all over again, as Nisemonogatari goes off the air with the promise of more. Last time, Shaft ran into production troubles and had to release the final three episodes of the 15-episode series online over the next year. This time, they're just stopping.

The eleventh episode ends with the usual "To Be Continued in the Next Episode" sign, despite there not being any more episodes planned. At least this time Shaft resolved its final story arc, which you can read more about in my Final Impressions piece later this week.

What's more interesting is what this means for future Bakemonogatari anime series. Director Akiyuki Shinbo has said that he'd like to get all of NisiOisin's original light novels animated, and there's already a movie planned for the prequel story Kizumonogatari. Hopefully this title card means that there's another series on the way and not just some bonus episode on home video.
