Okay, this is getting a bit ridiculous. I've been trying not to talk about Noriko Sakai for the last several weeks but I really can't help the fact that she's pretty much dominated the headlines in Japan with her recent drug arrest. It's kind of sad, considering she was such a huge part of the J-pop scene during the 90s, but these days, she's been reduced to crying in front of crowds of rude journalists who feel the need to bombard her with endless questions about the accusations she faced.
I was hoping to see her gracefully bow out of the spot light now that she's headed to rehab, but it seems that people can't just leave her well enough alone. Instead, I woke up this morning only to read that her vacation house, which had already been tagged with graffiti following her arrest, has been torched. For her sake, I seriously hope that everything just ends there. She doesn't deserve any of this. Rehab? Maybe. Some jail time? I suppose--but her house torched and her career in shambles? Nobody should go through that, don't you agree?
