I really don't have a whole lot to say in this blog post, aside from the fact that school = me busy. But given that we're learning Flash right now (ahhh what an annoying web tool) I was tasked to create a movie intro in Flash. So what better to do than create an opening for the first Gurren Lagann movie, a film that has no introductory credits whatsoever, and surprisingly little fanfare for the title.

In case you're wondering, since there is only DVD or TV quality of Gurren Lagann (and not Blu-ray ;_;) the clips in the video don't end up looking too great (a flaw forgiven by my professor) but hey. Work with what I can. The black text you see in some frames slides across the background quickly... like an added texture. I dunno. We needed to have nice typography. So there.
ALSO: Yotsuba&! vol 6 is fantastic as always. HURRYUPYENPRESSNEEDMORENOW.
ALSO ALSO: Last night I couldn't sleep. So I began brainstorming, and thought of possibly the best thing ever: a Yotsuba film. Feature length. By Studio Ghibli. Sure it's just a pipe dream, but HOOOLY CRAP would that be awesome or what?
And as for the GL movie, I don't have much love for it because it's essentially fanservice. As a film itself, it's horrible. It assumes you know who everyone is, most of the major plot points and character developments, and couldn't stand on its own two legs if it had crutches.
Good to see you around again. You should, y'know, upload the flash intro somewhere.
