Dark Horse appeared at the New York Comic-Con with some exciting announcements. Two new manga have been unveiled for release in 2011, one of which I'm very much excited about since it's by the creator of Hellsing: The series is called Drifters and by its description, sounds freakin' awesome. The other series scheduled for release is called Bloodlines Battlefront and is by the creator of Trigun.

Now how often have you been unable to find or buy a manga that you just can't wait to get?! Well Dark Horse have plans to sell their comics digitally. Unfortunately we will probably have to wait a little longer to get the licenced Japanese titles, but I trust that it is going to happen. So as of January 2011 (or a little later), you should be able to jump on the Web and buy your favourite manga title. Each Dark horse title will cost $1.49. While it may not be as cool as actually having the manga, it'd certainly be very convenient.

It has also been announced that they will be releasing a sequel to Shinjuku by Christopher Morrison and Yoshitaka Amano. The sequel to the illustrated novel will be called Shinjuku Azul.

I will likely be picking up what Hellsing I don't already have when I am able to do so digitally. Which Dark Horse comic or manga will you be looking for?

Japanator Recommends: Oreimo Vol. 1

On the surface, a series like Oreimo may appear to be saturated with silly gimmicks and sexual hijinks with a hint of incest. When you get to know eroge-obsessed Kirino and all those important to her, it morphs into somethin...

One of the nice things about reading books like Les Miserables, Anna Karenina and The Canterbury Tales (and yes, I have read all of those) is that they're so big it makes you look smart. Thick books have a tendency to make ot...

SDCC: Viz and Dark Horse part 2

Okay, so now that the craziness of preview night is over, I managed to get a decent look at the Viz and Dark Horse booths. Surprisingly, there wasn't a lot there-- at least for me. For all the space Viz took up, you'd think t...

SDCC: Preview night; Viz, Dark Horse, and Kotobukiya

You know, for a preview night, the con was sure as hell packed. Maybe it's been the countless other cons I've been to in the last year, but the preview night for this year's Comic Con alone was about the same as a regular day...
