While Japan's aging population continues to be a major concern in the long term, the country is still home to some of the spriteliest geezers you might find.
Among them, this man, aged seventy-eight, who still works as an exterminator, regularly climbing up into rafters and attics to suck huge hives of Asian giant hornets into a vacuum cleaner.
And let me tell you, those hornets are huge. The largest variety in the world, they can grow up to 2 inches long and have a wingspan of 3 inches. A sting on the leg reportedly felt like "a hot nail being driven into the skin." And to think people tend to freak the hell out over the appearance of a single honeybee. These m*therf*ckers are three times their size and twenty times their weight.
When invading a bee colony, some hornets apparently manage a kill rate of up to forty bees a minute, decapitating their victims with sharp mandibles. I'm thinking that this is why Metal Gear Solid 3's The Pain chose to cover himselves in the deadly bastards.
Hit the jump for a video of a dude using an industrial-size vacuum cleaner to suck hornets into a "death box" (sounds like a cool band name), and hit the gallery for the second most effective way of fighting hornets: moefying them and turning them into some kind of sex object.
looks kinda funny when they get sucked in
