Oreimo-gate happened. Thoughts?

10:00 PM on 10.11.2010 // Lauren Rae Orsini

Adding "gate" to any word is a journalist's way of trying to make people care about something that wasn't too shocking. In this case, a group of crafty individuals managed to find and leak ANN's stream of Oreimo a day before the Japanese airing and a week before the show was slated to premiere in North America.

However, this isn't shocking because it isn't new. Remember Funimation's One Piece leak last year? Where there are live streams there are going to be leaks. Nobody has found a fail proof way to protect them.

Do you think that there's a better solution?
