I lol'ed. The funny thing is that the Dallas cons (in the hellmouth heat state) are all but devoid of similar vendors.
There should be a website if there isn't already in the way of "Overheard in New York," except it'd be "Overheard at Anime Cons."

-_-; they were annoying. I'm surprised you haven't posted anything on the homeless hanging around the convention. I had a woman with a Coach purse come up to me and ask for money for her son (yeah right), guy asking for 90cents bus fair and once he got it from someone he'd run to the next person and ask for the same thing, and THEN there was a guy who comes up to me after I got some Annie Annes pretzels and trys to grab the bag out of my hand!?! What a day...
Best I overheard was "Ice Cold Water $5. It's delicious ,I should know I tried it."

I heard the best one ever from some guy who obviously knew his audience. (paraphrased from memory)
"Hey Ash Ketchum! I got some ice cold green tea right here! Drink some of this shit! You'll be throwin' pokeballs all day long!"
The Ash cosplayer then having the attention of the whole sidewalk of course had to buy one. =)

My friend overheard the same pokeball comment, he was telling me about it wow..lol..
I totally think they went about this entirely wrong and I dont recall it being that bad last year.

Man this is so true when me and my friends first got to the con thats all we heard "water $1 " everywhere.
I think the only guy who had teh right idea though and had a HUGE stack of bills in his hand was this rastifarian guy.He was walking up and down the register at door line,best spot that non of the other....uh..."vendors " XD were at he made a kiling and ACTULY ran out.
