Otakon 09: Bandai Entertainment's industry panel and liveblog photo

MMMmmm, industry panel.

We are here at Bandai's industry panel here at Otakon. For some reason, they're holding it at 9:00 p.m. Despite that, the room is packed. They're already hinting at "surprises" to be revealed tonight, so hit the jump and keep refreshing to read the updates from our liveblog.

Here's the cliffnotes and notable items below:

  • Kurokami coming to Blu-ray
  • Eureka Seven coming to 420 theaters across US
  • Lucky Star OVA coming out August. $14.98
  • You already know the Kannagi stuff, but the director showed up
  • Director Yamamoto is sorry he's not working on the new Haruhi
  • THE PHOTO ABOVE MEANS NOTHING

8:02 - Lantis music coming our way. Woooo. Coming summer of 2009.

Kurokami and Geass on Youtube, free for the watching. Woo. Also, Gundam 00. All on BE's channel.

Also, Kurokami coming on Blu-ray.

8:06 - watching a bunch of trailers. Yawn. Get to the good stuff.  I just did not enjoy Kurokami that much. I think it reads better than it watches. They are now talking about how it was broadcast in multiple languages all at the same time.

8:11 - watching a Geass R2 dub clip. Lulzy a bit. MMM, Kallen. R2 part 1 is coming in August. Also on Adult Swim now.

Also, Gundam 00. Coming 7.21 Season 1 Part 1.

8:15 - Gurren Lagann clip. Serioiusly? We all already have this. Get on with it!

JUST WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM?!?!?!?

You know about Eureka Seven movie? They will release the list of theaters next week, but it will hit 420 screens in all. Nice. DUB, BTW. Look for more info around New York Anime Fest. A cosplay contest will take place at the event.

8:23 - Looking at Lucky Star OVA trailer now. Do want. 43 minutes, $14.98

8:26 - Kannagi trailer showing now. My jam. Love this song. You already know about what's going down with this, don't you?  I want Nagi inside of me.

Ooh, Director of Kannagi (and Lucky Star and Haruhi) is here as a surprise guest. He was asked if he had an opportunity to go out on a date with any of his characters, who would he pick? He grunts and the audience eats it up. He says Hatsune Miku.

In Kannagi, the director says to watch for the details of day-to-day life that they worked so hard to include. Also, it's a love comedy, so watch it in that way.

8:31 - Fans asked if he bought anything in the dealer's room. He says he bought a Giant Robo figure.

Ha! Now they're giving shirts away for confesions. Yamamoto starts off: He says he's sorry he's not involved with the Haruhi series being created in Japan right now.

- other confession: a girl confesses her love to her childhood friend, who was sitting right next to her! AWWWW!

- another confession: girl's first con with her boyfriend, says that she will marry him after today.

- more confessions: another admits inserting Konata in eroge! Audience dies laughing.

- another: girl admits skipping college for otakon, said her grandma was dying of cancer to do it

- another: girl starts crying: she eloped, not even parents know. Damned liar

- more: guy said his wife is Konata? WTF?

- and the last: someone has a 90% chance of getting fired for otakon attendance

8:52 - watching extras of Kannagi DVD - cosplayers doing the dance!

That's it, folks!
