Otakon 09: East Coast has all the evil, awesome, and awe-inspiring cosplay photo

Looking at the cosplay between Anime Expo and here, there sure was a big difference. While Anime Expo had some really impressive cosplay, like the Gurren Lagann cosplayer, Otakon has a higher level of overall quality. I've always attributed it to the fashion and art schools that populate the East coast, and how that produces the better stuff.

So down below you'll find some of the cosplay shots that were scattered about on Saturday and Sunday, with some of the really eye-grabbing cosplay.

Anything that really caught your eye there? And any great cosplay photos you guys have for yourselves from Otakon?

American cosplayers really know how to look uninterested or out of character.
I totally have that badass rainbow umbrella, btw.
Real feathers?...

Wing Zero Custom is probably the most difficult to cosplay. Not only do you have to have a waist that's skinny as anything in addition to having long legs to be proportionally correct, but the darn wings are almost impossible to get to balance properly due to them arching back as opposed to being flat with the back like, say, the Freedom.

Most tend to balance the weight problem by carrying a buster rifle in their arms, but that only makes the outfit heavier in addition to needing to keep track of what's in front of you and behind.

I'm running into all of these same problems right now with building my TV version Wing Zero costume...
Hey Brad, thanks for the great pic of me and GladOS there! Mind if I show it off on my Cosplay.com? (with a link back of course)

The Auron you have pictured was great, and there was an entirely in character Jet Black that didn't get nearly the love he deserved.
You missed a lot of good cosplayers.
