Look at this line. Wow. We walked alongside the line waiters for over five minutes at a reasonable pace before ever seeing anything close to something looking like the front. And this video did not count the winding that took place once you got inside. By our guesses, the line was something like an hour and a half wait. Maybe even more. But it sure beats waiting for your pass tomorrow, I guess.

And once you got inside? Nothing. Nada. Just get your pass and leave. Watch the full video and get some bonus dickish commentary from Colette and I.

MOAR Otakon:

Legacy Comments

I'm starting to reconsider my plan to go to Otakon after I get out of High School.
ou I remember the guy selling ice water from last year. XD;; he's back again.

Long line is stupidly long.
Looks like so much fun!

However, there's a lot of XXL shirts in line. JK
Is it pronounced O-ta-kon or Ota-kon? It's always bugged me how I never found out.
Its O-ta-kon. Unlike the Metal Gear Solid character.

The guys selling water have been there years. Sad I haven't been able to go in a few years. :(
That's nothing compared to Anime Central 2008. I waited 11 hours in line. Stupid reason behind it, too.
Story goes that there was a threat about hacking their servers going around 4chan or something. They didn't heed the warning and left their registration servers online during the first day of the convention, and they got DoS'd.
Oh well. =/
Hah! Now no one can complain about AX lines. (I staffed and the number 1 complaint was about the lines. jeez...)
I was in this line, and this was around 6:30 or so (As we were leaving, we drove past the line again and saw the Vegeta cosplay in your video at about that spot). We got there at 4 PM, ended up in at the back of the building. Took 2 HOURS to get inside. Someone literally passed out from the heat, had to be escorted by her friends and Otakon Staff.
People cosplayed at the line to get passes? Wtf?
I have been to otakon a few times. The line is ridiculous. It's the only con I have been to that has a long / time consuming line. They need to do it like comic-con, where there is like 50 badge kiosk.

I remember comic-con had me in line for 15 minutes, and I was moving at an average walking pace for about 10 of the 15 minutes (only stopping a few seconds once every couple mins). It was awesome.
Has there ever been a decent con or trade show that didn't begin with stupidly long reg lines? Even if you pre-reg, seems like you end up waiting in another line to pick up a badge or some other shit.
Hope you have press passes, do they even give them out anymore at Otakon? I never been but tried to get press passes , guess my company is too small for them at the moment. I haven't tried in a about two years, I stopped caring. Good luck with the coverage, can't wait to read about the adventures.
Vegeta! What's the Scouter say about the line population?

It's oVER 9000!
@kamanashi
Why would you wait till your out of High school for an Anime Convention?

Also love the siren at the beginning of the video. Wild Otaku on the loose!
