Its time for you to get your mind blown, because akinator is here. He has the power to read your mind and figure out what character you are thinking of. Just go to this site and answer some questions he poses to you while thinking about a particular character. Then he will attempt to pick what character you are thinking of based on how you answer your questions. Yes, I was skeptic at first, thinking: “You probably have no idea who Kamina is; he isn’t Spike or Naruto or Bugs Bunny.” But low and behold he blew me away once Akinator showed me Kamina’s beautiful face. “What!” I screamed. “This is ri-ri-ri-ridiculous! But you won’t be able to guess Ussop!” (5 minutes later.) “ZOMG!” *Dies*
Yes, you will probably experience the same mind boggling craziness as me; but Akinator isn’t god. He isn’t that great at predicting minor characters like One Piece’s Arlong (hold on let me check…) (well he picked Kisame, who is close, but you get the point) So give him a chance and let him entertain you. Share your ‘omg’ stories with us in the comments below.
You know how sometimes we feature really weird sh*t from Japan? Things like business cards that look like raw meat, or sushi USB memory sticks, or neckties that have fans built into them? Well, you can thank the Thanko company for silly crap like that. The problem is that the Thanko web page only does Japanese business. Until now, that is.
Due to growing gaijin demand, the company has decided to open up an English language portal. The freshly launched RareMonoShop.com has all the same wierd stuff that Thanko does, only now with English descriptions and pricetags. Now you can get your USB head refresher without the language and shipping barriers. "Avoid using on sensitive areas," the page warns.
The downside is the prices on these items. Sure, a gold ingot USB hub sounds cool, but not for $66 USD. And it's not even real gold! I've had my eye on the USB-powered slippers for some time now, but I'd rather my toes freeze and fall off than pay $42 for a pair.
You, Japanator readers, have let us know that you are interested in more anime reviews and previews of new and old shows, so I’m here now to fulfill that promise, de gozaimasu. Today, I wanted to share with you an anime I have been recently enjoying, and that is the baseball anime One Outs.
Now don’t leave just yet. I know I just said baseball, that thing that is part of that evil cult known as sports, which is our number one enemy for life, however this is different. It isn’t your average shonen sports anime, or a hardcore super realistic sports title either, it happily sleeps somewhere in the middle. If that isn’t good enough, it is directed by Yuzo Sato, the same person that directed Kaiji and Akagi, so you know its going to have lots and lots of suspense.
If I perked your interest, then check out the rest of my review after the jump.
I'm just popping in to remind you all that we've got a contest going on to win the special edition box of Code Geass. The prize will be the limited edition version of Code Geass, which contains the first two discs, the soundtrack, a drama CD, and the first volume of the manga!
The contest is fairly simple: you just go into the forums and post what your plans would be for world domination and what you'd do once you've got the world under your thumb. It can be as detailed as you want, but just go ahead and enter! The contest ends November 30th at midnight EST!
This is a triumph, we are still alive! Well, at least for another week we are. Welcome to another brand-spankin’ new edition of Podtoid-san, the internet’s greatest podcast about anime and Japanese pubic hair (or more commonly known as pixelization.) This week we talk about anime controversy, and two events that are the definition this concept. This first one has to do with some anime girl having a boyfriend, with otaku up in arms about this uninvited pairing. This is what happens when you steal the waifu away from otaku husbands; it’s not a pretty picture.
The second issue is the whole Bat Manga controversy. If you are in the dark about this fight then your best option is to remain in the dark; but you probably still won’t heed my words. In that case just listen to our wonderful podcast, because we will explain every last bat-detail about this feud. However, we are not only speaking about controversy in 74, but other great things like pubic hair and Japanator’s breakfast menu. Enjoy this episode and thanks for listening!

Thanks, you guys, for sticking around with us here at Japanator. And for all you new people who are discovering our site, whether through Danny Choo, MangaBlog, Destructoid, Tomopop, or by searching for "Angol Fear cosplay" or "lolicon gallery," I welcome you here to Japanator.com.
We've been here a little over two years now (hint: our birthday was November 3rd!), and we've changed quite a bit. We started off as a fanatical anime blog, but as time went by, we learned more about Japan and expanded our interests, highlighting music, news, culture, and oddities from the Land of the Rising Sun. And we've done afewpodcasts, too.
So now that we're going into our third year, with some new staff onboard (Chelsea and Rio, if you hadn't noticed), I'd like to know just what you, the reader wants from Japanator. Is there anything you've felt is missing from the site? Anything that pisses you off? Stuff that you want more of? Let us know. We really want to do all we can to make this site the best it can be.
I'd like to just have a few more words after the jump.
Fans of blippy chiptunes and slippery vinyl bodysuits rejoice!
Katsucon has just announced that they will be hosting two of the best electro acts from Japan at their con this year. 8-bit masters YMCK and the decidedly more gothy Aural Vampire will be descending upon Arlington, VA in February. And not just any day in February, but Friday the 13th! Oh yeah, and the 14th too, but bler!!! Friday the 13th!
For the uninitiated, you can check out a clip from YMCK up above, and one from Aural Vampire below. Or you could just take my word for it and book your trip right now. It's going to be so, so awesome. Oh, and I'm sure the rest of the con will be, yeah, um...hey! YMCK and Aural Vampire! Woo!
