Otaku USA issue number six has just hit the newsstands (do they even say "newsstands" anymore?) and once again it's chock-a-block with great anime, manga and general otaku goodness. Oh, and a few pages of music coverage from the one and only...me.
That's right true believers! I've got a complete guide to the awesome P-Vine "Techno Ca-Yo" compilations of vintage '80s synth pop (which you might have heard on Japanator Radio a while back,) all eight discs! I also contributed reviews of the new Motocompo and Boris albums, as well as the slightly older Mitsuami Heroine solo album from Kayo, keyboard player for Polysics
Of course there is a mega-ton of great anime, manga (they have a staggering number of manga reviews every issue,) film and general otaku-goods coverage. They are great at covering the obscure stuff, as well hitting up the breaking stories. Check out the interview with Speed Racer's Ippei Kuri!
It's my admittedly biased view, but I don't think there's nearly enough Japanese music in American Japanese-culture coverage (woah...convoluted.) Our own Dale North has been blazing a trail through the J-music wilderness for some time now, and I'm proud to take up the challenge myself. Otaku USA has done a great job of covering J-music in the past, so it's an honor to be counted among their ranks. Go grab a copy and help fight the good fight!
