Our first look at Astro Boy (in motion)
by God Len, 11/21/2008

So here is the score card so far: Dragon Ball = the suxors, Akira = looking sounding good, Speed Racer = shiny; and now we have Astro Boy, which is looking pretty snazzy, though I feel quite teased, we need more! They are sticking with computer animation this time, which is a nice halfway point between live-action and anime; something that needs to happen to help ease the transitions between the two mediums.

Astro Boy is the story of an extremely strong robot that was built to replace its creator’s long dead son. After being shunned, Astro Boy decides to live a life of Superman, and beats up things that piss him off, like other robots and racist humans. Historically, Astro Boy is one of the oldest manga and anime titles out there, and should be respected as an elder in our nerdy tribe. So far, so good I say; but a longer trailer would be appreciated.
