People want a Persona 4 anime most of all photo

Many games get their own anime series adaptations, which in practice usually turn out better than the average game-to-film transition. Online magazine Dengeki polled its readers as to which game they'd most like to see as an anime, and Atlus' RPG Persona 4 topped the list.

That's a great thing, since I'm a big fat Persona fanboy, but other worthy games followed in the rankings:

  2. Phoenix Wright
  3. Okami
  4. Kingdom Hearts
  5. Idolm@ster
  6. Metal Gear Solid
  7. Yakuza
  8. BlazBlue
  9. Persona 3
  10. Ateleir Rorona

While some games are more suited to adaptation than others, I would personally prefer a Persona 3 adaptation to Persona 4, partly for reasons I can't elaborate on lest I spoil the game, and also because it has an (admittedly loose) connection to Persona: Trinity Soul. While Trinity Soul wasn't much of a triumph, a Persona 3 anime could act as a prequel of sorts and give the franchise a stronger sense of continuity.

Muramasa could be a mix of Bleach and Soul Eater. There's a sword that can launch a wave-like energy, and I aways picture a "Getsuga Tenshou!" yell or something. And collecting souls to get stronger is kinda obvious.

And Fragile. And A Boy and His Blob. And... wait, there's a ton of recent Wii games that look like they are straight out of an anime.

@Al-mal: Steel Battalion would be an awesome mech anime if they stuck to it's complicated nature and didn't simplify any of the stuff... half of it's fun came from how in-depth everything (at least mechanically) was.

Idolm@ster would be greatest moe+music anime ever. Not crappy like that stupid as hell Xenoglossia mecha crap, but it would have to be made by Kyoani most likely just to give it extra moe flair. Seriously though, it would beat K-On hands down.

I would love to see a Persona 3 or 4 anime adaptation. And I mean a real adaptation not something along the lines of Trinity Soul(It wasn't bad just not what alot of people wanted it to be).

I also noticed that Blazblue was on the list and I think they should make that a anime as well as the story mode in that game is insanely deep and could make a really good anime if pulled off correctly.

metal gear basically is an anime , similiar to GITS in many ways and there's no doubt GITS influenced Kojima.

There's too many games I'd want to see animes of though, I really couldn't pick. What do I want though, is a GOOD gundam/macross game with online versus. a GOOD one.

Personally, I'd like to see a Phoenix Wright anime more; there are just so many potential stories to tell in that universe.

Still, a Persona 4 anime would definitely be something that I'd watch.

It would be interesting to see how a No More Heroes anime would turn out. Then again, SUDA51 would turn the medium on its head if he was the director for that...

I think they should go with a Touhou anime. There I said it, I'm not taking it back! Just you know... don't let ZUN draw it.

For something more mainstream I think the Suikoden games would provide a good material. They were solid games, with plenty of characters and interesting plots. I enjoyed the games, but not so much that I would fear for them getting butchered. I wouldn't want someone to attempt a Chrono Trigger anime.

I have no idea how a Phoenix Wright anime is supposed to work. Anyone not familiar with it had better be fans of police procedurals because most of it will take place in court. I wonder just how much action can happen in a place where nobody moves around for most of the show.

A Phoenix Wright or Persona 4 anime being announced would be the two greatest pieces of news ever. I don't know about you guys, but PW is a game that really lends itself well to animated storytelling. I mean the sprites and dialogue are funny enough already, it would simply be a matter of animating it.

My only issue with a Persona 4 anime is how they would use the MC's ability to switch persona. Would he just stick with Izanagi (aka. one of the most badass looking, but useless persona) or would he switch to others?

@AQua ng- A NMH anime would be up to its neck in sheer badass.

I too proposition for a No More Heroes anime, which will probably be even more insane than FLCL if SUDA 51 is involved.

Going on the Suda51 line of thought, I'd like a Killer7 anime please. Delicious Steve Blum voice acting. Makai Kingdom and Soul Nomad too, but I'm not sure if they would make for good watching.

@BGFUSAB:A Touhou anime would be extremely tricky to make. First off, ZUN is already opposed to an official anime for personal reasons and... You know what? I think might just write a blog about this. Unless you want an answer straight away, 'cause I won't finish it for a while.

For a taste, check out this fan-made anime by Maikaze. By some unfathomable twist of fate, they managed to enlist the talents of, I shit you not, Mai Nakahara, Sawashiro Miyuki, Takahashi Mikako, Tanaka Fucking Rie (!), Toyosaki Aki, and a cameo by Inoue Kikuko. Watch for yourself, develop opinion.

@ Parasepsis-Ezza: Oh believe me, I know it would be tricky. I kind of said it half-jokingly and that's why I tossed out Suikoden because I think that would be much more doable (and yet still infinitely easy to mess up).

Fatal Frame or Clock Tower anime would be nicer than actual live action ones. Also, Silent Hill.
