Visual Novel developer 5pb's Xbox 360 fighting game, Phantom Breaker, will be making its way to America in 2012 courtesy of Austin based publisher 7Sixty. A relative unknown in the industry, 7Sixty was behind the release of Stronghold 3, a game I'm sure very few of you have ever heard of or played for that matter. None the less, it's good that another niche title has gotten a chance at an audience out west. While the game features mostly original characters battling it out for a chance to have a wish granted, Kurisu Makise of Steins;Gate fame and Rimi Sakihata from Chaos;Head Noah both make appearances as playable characters.
Having laid my hands on the finished game quite some time ago however, I personally can't say I'm too interested. The battle system felt incredibly unbalanced and the character animations were well below nearly everything else on the market. I personally think 5pb is better than this. Still, I never did get to lay my hands on the apparently beefy story mode that's included in the package, so that alone may very well be worth the price of admission alone.
Phantom Breaker is currently scheduled to hit the Xbox 360 in America-land later this year.
