Omo pointed out to me Hinano's post highlighting the artwork the Pixiv collection has put out, following the death of Michael Jackson. No matter what your opinion of the man may have been, he certainly did touch the lives of many. His music and dancing reached millions of people, and certainly inspired people in more ways than one: to perform, to have fun, and to dream.
Jackson was also a very giving man. Beyond his work on "We Are The World," for years and years he offered programs to children with disabilities to come and enjoy themselves at Neverland Ranch. My parents both went as chaperones on these events, and to hear about the sort of opportunities he gave to all these children brings a tear to my eye even now.
And so, in taking a note from Hinano's post, I went through the Pixiv galleries and selected some of my favorite pieces from there. You can check out all the images from that link, and I've gone ahead and included links to the profiles of those artists I selected down after the jump.
