Why is it that John's computer fails at life?

First, I definitely agree that increased discussion of pornography is the way to go with PTS. Or with any podcast. Or, hell, with the Internet in general.

That said: pornography drives media. The song "The Internet is for Porn" isn't just goofy; much the Internet as we now know it came to be thanks to the desire for pornography and the desire to SELL pornography.

This is true in non-Internet media, too. The doujinshi industry, if you will, is driven largely by the creation and sale of pornographic manga-- but the doujinshi industry ALSO fuels the manga industry by giving would-be mangaka a forum to create. It's an old story that many popular mangaka (most notably CLAMP) started out creating doujinshi. And yes, some of those mangaka created ero doujinshi and many of them didn't. But if the porn wasn't there, the audience wouldn't be anywhere near as huge.

So to recap, porn doujinshi funds the existence of the enormous doujinshi market, which feeds talent directly into the manga industry.

Ergo, we should all buy boatloads of ero doujinshi to support the manga industry. ♥

Wasn't the net founded on that principle? A bunch of guys got together, and wanted to see if they could network the big Cray computers that had back in the day with one's across the country to share some hot bitmaps?

I don't think I'm alone when I say when I hear "fanfiction" I say "no." That said, there are some that are actually decent (and dare we say, good). Including doujinshi, what are some of the better fanfics you've read? And no yaoi or yuri.

I personally love to read and write fanfics. Its fun to put a good twist on the sometimes dry or lacking story lines in anime and Manga. I've read a few good Inuyasha ones here and there but its like a rule that only the Ecchi or Hentai themed fanfics actually have a decent story line. Plus.. fanfics give endings to storys that dont have one... like Inuyasha

Doujin is good, but rare to find an awsome one. but its great for promos!

Anyways, yeah porn is becoming a very hot topic for the world today. I mean sure, the song may have been a joke, but the internet really is filled with a lot of porn. Its just the product of a basic human need. And just like anime can give some music artists a chance to get their name out their, doujinshi can too. I believe the dude who does Hellsing started off that way.
