Like the snow piling up in front of my house, Podtoid-san 53 is upon us. We rightfully named it smex and cookies, though we really don’t talk about either subject, they are simply concepts that teach us the meaning of episode 53. For example, cookies are crunchy, and so is Crunchyroll. Smex feels good, so does buying the first volume of Lucky Star. See, we are deeper than you ever imagined.
In this episode we talk about how Crunchyroll is taking the industry for one wild ride, and how we don’t like to pay for websites like them. The Lucky Star first volume DVD looks pretty, as well as the new trailer to Speed Racer. We also talk about evil sand ninjas and their easily copied jitsu, the new magazine PIQ, and a more animated Japanese ambassador. Today’s episode comes free with an egg roll of your choice, please pick it up at A Baoa Qu.
iTunes listeners, last episode (52), accidentally got misplaced with our first episode. So be sure to download the real episode 52 here instead. Gomen.

- Who was it that had music playing in the background? Gia?
- Yakitate breads are not weird! They are awesome breads that makes you behave in weird ways.
- You can't beat Gao Gai Gar in ... "over-exaggerated-ness"
- Doraemon, ask me anything about it, I'll tell you! The people of US might not be familiar with Doraemon but it was huge in Asia. Come on, there is a Doraemon movie like every single year. It is the first anime to be printed on stamps. I guess everybody is a little bit too old now to read it but had you read it from 3rd grade, I'm sure it would the your #1 childhood manga. (not checking my sentence structure here) Hey, when you have children, that is the manga to give them.
- And there are already a bunch of Dragon Quest anime and manga. A bunch. Dragon Quest: Dai no Daiboken was pretty good.
Have fun at Anime Matsuri. Oh yeah, you guys are already there as I'm typing this ^_^
