Atelier Shallie

More fresh Atelier Shallie details surface

Man, this game looks fantastic

With Atelier Shallie only recently announced for the PS3, it's about time for Japanese publications to start bursting at the seams with new info and screenshots.

Outside of a gorgeous new illustration of both main characters, Shallistera and Shallotte, story info has been revealed as well. The developers are being coy about when Atelier Shallie takes place respective to Atelier Ayesha and the most recent game, Escha & Logy, though we know for a fact that it takes place after both games. They do tease that old characters will be making appearances, so series fans have something to look forward on that end.

Much like Escha & Logy, Shallie will have two main characters with separate stories. Apparently the developers have listened to fans this time around, as they stress that both campaigns will be different from one another in significant ways. For now, we know that Shallistera's story will be about uncovering the mysteries of the world, and growing up along the wau. Shallotte's narrative will be more along the lines of older Atelier games, filled with humor, a light hearted sense of adventure, and the growth of a girl unafraid to speak her mind.

Combat tempo has been upped, and for the first time in the series' history, Atelier Shallie will feature a 360 degree rotatable camera. The alchemy system returns in full force, an evolution of the Escha & Logy gameplay.

I actually picked up Atelier Ayesha Plus for the Vita a few days ago, and I've been loving the hell out of it. I finally get what all the fuss is about, so I couldn't be more jazzed for Atelier Shallie.

Am I alone?
