Fan made films based off anime are usually hit or miss, with a lot more falling on the miss side; well, I guess the same goes for professionally made ones as well. When they are a hit, like this video, it feels like such an accomplishment; David kicking the crap out of Goliath per se. This Berserk short film was created by Francesco Sanseverino and Deus Ex Machina Studio, and features a story that is based off of the manga of the same name.
The cosplay by itself is wonderful, perhaps one of the most authentic Guts cosplay in the world! However, I only wish that Francesco Sanseverino, who played Guts in this film, was older; Guts can’t be a twenty-something year old. Please Hollywood, please look at what he made, and do what he did. See how he didn’t make Guts into Keanu Reeves or a blonde grade-schooler with a mullet; and notice how it was still good even though nothing was changed? Yup, it really does work.
HOLY HELL I WANT MORE!! That rocked! The only complaint that I have is that the paint on the sword was uneven towards the end, imo it could have used a few more coats of paint...but still HOLY SHIT THAT WAS SO BAD ASS!!
awesome. but about the too young comment. U know... Guts is sposed to be young right? like... he was 15 when he joined the hawks. 18 when they won the war. 19 when he fucked Caska. then like... 20-21 when he started to be the black swordsman. around the current time hes prolly about 23, 24 tops.
other than that there were only 2 problemms with the vid.
1. Not enough blood. when he was hacking the zombies there should have been Kill Bill level of blood
2. Caska's is not white or asian. shes brown.
Other than that it was amazing. Awesome work.
(sorry for the random criticism on the age and everything else... ive watched more berserk than is healthy)
k. . . i guess no ones going to comment on the audio but that was sort of well... for a private company an being that it was low budget an all it was half way decent but come on the sound of the sword being drag wasnt good. showing the perspective of the sword swing was...odd; it was still good dont get me wrong, well maybe it was ok >_<
ill admit the sound for the sword was a lil silly but the rest of the sound was awsome great music and voice overs were not bad either.I would LOVE to see more i was just hopeing for one thing CANNON ARM!
the only issue here is how he swings the sword, it's like he's not even exerting effort to swing it towards the enemy lol but all in all that was pretty neat stuff.
