The above image was a particularly moving one from the funeral of Prince Tomohito of Mikasa, who was laid to rest today after passing away on June 6 from a battle with cancer. He was 66 years old.
Tomohito was the sixth in line to succeed the throne as Emperor of Japan, and had been a longtime advocate for cancer research after contracting it in 1991. Things had looked up for him until it came back in 2003, attacking his larynx. Depression and alcoholism set in later on, with him eventually losing the ability on his own after 2008.
