I hate to admit that I've fallen behind in keeping up with any news related to the Macross Frontier movie. It was only a couple of months ago when we last mentioned about there being a movie through an exciting Macross Frontier event. It seems this promotional video has been around since March and I've only seen it today.
According to the Animage magazine, it says that the movie will be releasd in June. However, there are other speculations that it will be released in August because of what was displayed on the car (if you recall, they revealed the news about the movie on a car). It seems the actual release date is still up in the air but enjoy this pretty promotional video in the mean time. You can see some new outfits for the lovely girls, as well as the new song, "Sou Da Yo," sung by Ranka Lee. I am incredibly anxious to see this movie now, even more so to see Alto once again being pretty!

I'm disappointed in it being a recap movie. I'm kind of getting tired of all these movies just being condensed versions of the series. Just because it worked for Mobile Suit Gundam doesn't mean every mech series has to do it. Give us new content instead.
@Hitogoroshi: I don't know what you're talking about. Hikaru was a pretty boy too. o_O; Not as much as Alto but still girly looking. And Roy Fokker isn't rolling in his grave since I have love for him as well.
@Niko: It's a recap movie but it also has new scenes and everything. Supposed to end the love triangle.
If Alto doesn't finally choose somebody, then this movie and the show are total fail. I loved the show but hated the cop-out ending. My one hope is the movie, and I'm not liking the looks of it since its just a recap.
And even if it does conclude the triangle, we're left with a series with an unsatisfying conclusion and a movie that rushes the plot but is the only real complete conclusion to the story. *Sigh*
There is another trailer for the Macross F movie. It almost the same footage from the first video, but now we can see the Sheryl's new cowboy outfit and Ranka using a kind of vehicle.

@Baylon: If they try to do the whole series, they'll do it the same way they did Macross: Do You Remember Love - they will reduce the original plot into a pile of plot objects and throw them into the movie framework completely randomly.
