Rusty Hearts is a thing that is going to happen, and by "thing", I mean "Free-to-Play Massively Multiplayer Online Game". That's "F2P MMOG" for people who like to make acronyms.
Developed by WindySoft and run by Perfect World Entertainment, the game is billed as a "side-scrolling hack-and-slash dungeon crawler with cel-shaded, manga-inspired visuals", but based on the gameplay trailer below, I don't see a lot of side-scrolling. Hacking and slashing? Check. Dungeons? Check. Cel-shaded, manga-inspired visuals? Check. But I have to say that that scrolling is happening in three dimensions.
But don't take my word for it. Come July 27th, you'll have a chance to confirm the nature of Rusty Hearts' scrolling for yourself. That is, if you head over to this page and grab a code from our pals at Destructoid. Get yours soon, because they're going fast.
