Time to rejoice, fans of all things -monogatari, because yet another installment of the favored -monogatari property, Bakemonogatari, is on its way. Not content to animate Nisemonogatari (Bakemonogatari's 2nd season) some months ago, as well as work on the vampiric prequel movie Kizumonogatari (due late this year), they've announced that they're going to animate Nekomonogatari (Black), set for sometime next year, with a preview scheduled for December 29th.
As for what, exactly, Nekomonogatari (Black) is, it's another prequel, this time set during Golden Week, placing it between Kizumonogatari, which is protagonist Koyomi's origin story, set during the summer break, and Bakemonogatari. It'll tell the story of how Koyomi met honor student (and meddlesome cat-person) Tsubasa Hanekawa.
SO EXCITE, not only because it's more -monogatari goodness from SHAFT, but because Tsubasa is an absolutely adorable character, and voiced by one of my favorite voice actresses of all time, Yui Horie. Check out proof of that adorableness below, as well as some sweet Hocchan trivia.
