Just as it seemed that all the emerging eroge news of late was bad eroge news, a ray of light pierced the darkened skies, assuring English-speaking eroge fanatics that yes, they would still be getting new enough fap material in game format.
JAST USA, the publishing hub for localized eroge and dating sims in the US, has inked out a publishing deal with famed developer Nitroplus (aka Nitro Plus, Nitro+) to distribute its titles to the North American market, starting with Zanma Taisei Demonbane. Nitroplus is also known for producing the Blassreiter anime alongside GONZO.
This is great news. For a long time now the English eroge industry's been known only for distributing shallow second- and third-string titles. But of late a lot of new releases have been emphasizing plot as much as porn, and several of Nitroplus' releases certainly fit the bill. If this all works out there'll be but a hop, skip and jump away from the biggest titles being distributed internationally, without need for drama-prone fansubbing groups. I dream of the day To Heart 2 makes it across the pond.

JAST USA Forms Game Licensing Partnership with Nitroplus Co., Ltd.
Bishoujo game localization company JAST USA today announced a new licensing partnership with Japanese multimedia entertainment producer, Nitroplus Co., Ltd., to produce English localized versions of Nitroplus game software. JAST USA President Peter Payne announced the deal at the 2009 Anime Expo bishoujo games industry content panel along with details of the first of several Nitroplus games to be released in English, Zanma Taisei Demonbane (release title pending).
“As the leading producer of adult ‘dating sim’ games and visual novels in English, JAST USA is excited to take the bold step of forming this partnership, devoted to the release of high quality, English language versions of Nitroplus products,” Mr. Payne said.
To accompany this announcement, a new site has been launched at http://www.nitroplususa.com/ that will host all the latest news and information about English releases of Nitroplus titles and other exclusive content.
