Rejoice? Live action xxxHOLiC drama incoming photo

I'm not on very good terms with Clamp these days. I absolutely adore their early work (Card Captor Sakura, Magical Knight Rayearth), but their recent stuff hasn't done much for me whatsoever. I've heard good things about xxxHOLiC, but I've never actually sat down to read it.

WOWOW has announced that they are funding a live action TV drama adaptation of the hit series, set to air in 2013. This would mark the first time that one of Clamp's series exited the realm of 2D, and I'm not sure what to think, quite frankly. Clamp just isn't Clamp without the ridiculously proportioned characters.

EDIT: Correction, this is the first live action TV adaptation of a Clamp property. Tokyo Babylon happened a long time ago. My apologies!

Keisuke Toyoshima (Softboy) will be directing, with Shouta Sometani and An Watanabe in the star roles. Little else information is available right now, but as we get closer to the new year, expect some fresh details and maybe a promo or two.

Any Clamp fans happy or excited about this? I'm not sure what to think.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled episode 2 is looking good

I'm the last person you'd call a fan of either Code Geass TV series. I will however say that I think they're beautifully animated pieces of television that I don't regret watching, even if the actual story and cast did nothi...

Friday Night Fights: Cardcaptor Sakura vs Yu Narukami

First chunk of Code Geass: Akito the Exiled streaming

I'll be honest with you guys and gals. Code Geass has never really appealed to me for one reason or another. The first season didn't do much for me and while I enjoyed the pure eye candy on display, I greatly disliked the cor...

SAYA! Blood-C: The Last Dark trailer has shouting

There's more Blood coming up, with Blood-C: The Last Dark, a movie follow-up to last year's Blood-C anime series. Production I.G. is teaming up with CLAMP again to continue the story, since it ended rather poorly for the char...

Code Geass hitting the stage in 2012

Ignoring the fact that the original story featured tons of fancy, smoothly-animated mech battles, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is getting adapted into a theatrical play that you can see as soon as April 2012. Butaiban...

Blood-C: The Last Dark promises more killin'
