Releases for the week of 07/07/08

Yes, this is the week we all have been waiting for. It’s been over a year since we wanted to get our well-kempt, callous free hands on this DVD, and it’s finally here. Its name is Mistreated Bride, and we finally get to see volume three of this fantastic series. In this volume Kouji reveals his feelings towards his step-mother, and they both work hard to make Kouji another brother and sister while becoming a father; hurray!

Other then that we have some other smaller series being released within Mistreated Bride’s shadow like an independent show most of you have never heard of called Gurren Lagann; nope, this isn’t a beer, but a story about giant robots and furries. There really is no need to talk about the other releases this week, BUY GURREN LAGANN NOW! (or on the eighth)

Just placed my order for vol1 SE on amazon an hour ago. I'll buy it again if the extras make it worth it and give the sub dvds to a friend.

ooo! I actually like the dub! (haha I can totally judge it from a few minutes pish-posh =P)

I am also gonna buy Gurren Lagann when the other version comes out too. I am intrigued by the dub.

Definitely buying the dub when it comes out later. Heck the special edition dub release might come with Kamina sunglasses!

I'm not quite used to the dub yet, but I'm sure I'll warm up to it more. I'd want the bilingual version anyway, so I'll sadly wait for that.

I will be interested in seeing how each version sells.

I'll admit that the dub doesn't sound too bad, but if I could I'd pick up Gurren Lagann straight away.
I wonder if they've even hinted at a PAL release date.... :(

O crap. At first I read this post on my phone without the video up there. Now Ive seen the video and Im actually looking forward to the Dub version.

Man there just isn't enough passion when they say gurren lagann, and the voices all sound the same in my opinion though that may be the bad quality of the video.

the voice acting was good but towards the end when both of them shout "GURREN LAGANN!" it felt very awkward.

The Japanese voice acting is definitely superior (especially at the gurren lagann part):

I'm not really feeling Kamina's dub voice. It doesn't quite have that gar-inducing manliness.

Still, I don't know whether to get the sub or dub DVD's. In fact, I may end up buying both just because the series was that awesome.

Kamina's English voice isn't bad, but it just doesn't give me the tingly feeling it should.

I find the dub rather lacking so far, then again, I find most dubs lacking. I'll watch it on Sci-Fi and see if it grows on me, but I'm defiantly getting the sub-only releases for now. At this point, if anything gets me to buy it again it will be the extras.

I'll buy the subs thanks! and I might think about buying the dub =.= *sigh* If I have too.

But I'm a little confused, in the dub is it Shi-mon or See-mon? either way it sounds stupid when they say it in english >_

Already got my Gurren Lagann weeks ago in the mail. :) Just as awesome as everyone said it would be too!

Also, the Mistreated Bride is hot. *drool*

They broke the 2 most important lines(Sayings) in the series with this voice, i think kamina sounds ok, problem is, he sounds like teenager, and not a man. in the jap verson, he sounds like a man, a young, strong man.

Shimon sounds fine sometimes, and unbareable others. Verdict Pending.

Yoko sounds generic.

I am interested in the subs only. so far, unless the dub comes with, as said earlier, kamina glasses.
