Reopen Autodesk Saya: New Game! Season 2 enters development

8:00 AM on 02.13.2017 // Salvador G Rodiles

What will Eagle Jump create next?

Whenever a team finishes a project, they tend to start the next one after the current one goes gold-- or way later. Speaking of successors, a second season of the Video Game Development-themed Anime New Game! was announced at the Next Level Fan Appreciation event on Feb. 12 at Toyosu PIT.

While New Game! wasn't the Shirobako of game development-themed anime shows, it ended up being a cute and silly take on a team's work life. Since the entire cast was entertaining in their own way, it'll be nice to see how Doga Kobo will adapt the original manga's next arc. Hopefully, Nenecchi will return as a tester. That way, they'll still have someone who's good at pointing out the game's unnoticed flaws and continuity issues.

As always, it's nice to see a show's cast reunited when a sequel gets revealed, with Yuki Takada (Aoba), Yoko Hikasa (Ko), Ai Kayano (Rin), Megumi Yamaguchi (Hifumi), Megumi Toda (Hajime), Ayumi Takeo (Yun), Madoka Asahina (Nenecchi), Chitose Morinaga (Umiko), and Eri Kitamura (Shizuku) appearing at the Next Level Fan Appreciation event.

To those who kept up with Eagle Jump's development on Fairies Story 3, are you all looking forward to New Game!'s second season?
