The town of Inakadate in Aomori prefecture is host to some creative farmers. That, or there are some mischievous aliens trying to pull a fast one. Either way, the results are rather amazing. Every year a certain rice paddy is transformed into a massive work of art using differently colored plants. As they grow the pictures begin to take shape. This year's display combines two of Hokusai’s 36 Views of Mt. Fuji, The Great Wave and Gaifu Kaisei.
