It's truly amazing how Japan has managed to capture my heart, time and time again with it's never ending supply of awesome technology. Being musically inclined myself, I've always had a soft spot for audio gear, be it speakers, synthesizers, or even the latest iPod. Also, being the otaku that I am, it should come as no surprise that I love my giant robots and J-Pop.
Naturally, this means I adore anything Macross related, and that's where this awesome video comes in. A good friend of mine recently brought this to my attention awhile ago, and I apologize for not being able to share it sooner. It demonstrates the Sony Rolly digital robotic music player, which first premiered in August of 2007 with none other than Ranka Lee.
After watching this, I began my search as to why I've never seen these on the market. It's been pretty low key since it's inception, no doubt due to it's hefty price of $399 USD. If only it were cheaper, I'd be in line to buy one myself. I really have to admit that it's completely impractical, so how could I possibly justify the purchase? It's awesome and cute at the same time, and frankly, it's the closest thing we'd have to owning our own Valkyries. If only that were enough.

Yikes! with that price, I would wait until they hit the 20 dollar shelf... Even if they are impractical, it must be a lot of fun to have one on the desk. I would buy one if not for the price.
And yeah I liked it a lot because of Ranka too.
@Heero: model kits don't move by themselves to the music beat.
PS:
I loved that remix of Nocturne, meng.
