Time for all Mazinger fans to get their Breast Burn on and celebrate because a new Mazinger anime is on its way. Its name is Z Mazinger and it is based off the Z Mazinger manga which is originally based off the Mazinger Z anime.  The difference between the manga and the anime is that it focuses more on the Greek mythology aspect of the story. Moon Phase tells us that this anime will be directed by Yasuhiro Imagawa, who also directed the fantastic super robot OVA, Giant Robo. Imagawa tell us that the characters will retain their old school look, but the mecha will be presented in a more modern style.

Palm Studio will be doing the animation for this series and will be 26 episodes long. There are also rumors of a new attack that will feature the Scrander’s wings transforming Z Mazinger into a giant rocket fist, aka. The hand of God attack! The epic gods of mechadom have looked down upon us and blessed us today, we should give thanks and sacrifice a kitten in return.
