We all love a good rumor, right? What about a rumor from a reliable tipster? Even better! Bakuman is a manga I'm personally very fond of: written and drawn by the Death Note-famous team Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, it focuses on two ninth-grade boys hoping to become mangaka. Essentially, it's a Weekly Shonen Jump series about drawing for Shonen Jump; but that would be putting it in a box, which it frequently breaks out of. Slice-of-life, art, polling the readers, and contests are all worked into the story surprisingly well. If you read Bakuman, you already know this, so the following news should get you excited.
Everyone's favorite Jump leak, EizHb38XPU, who's been pretty much right on everything he's ever leaked, has recently posted that a Bakuman anime is being readied for airing on Japanese television in fall 2010. Given the reliability of said leak, I hearby give permission to get very excited. Do you read Bakuman? Or do you even think the anime is needed? I'm hoping for a quality adaption, much like Death Note received.
Any hint at potential good anime in the future is good news to me. With this winter season being awful and my not having really picked up anything new since Cross Game (Kai and FMA not counting) I could use a new series to get into.
