Read that as Bakugan; was confused for a second.

Any hint at potential good anime in the future is good news to me. With this winter season being awful and my not having really picked up anything new since Cross Game (Kai and FMA not counting) I could use a new series to get into.

Yes! Bakuman is definitely my favorite manga right now, so a Bakuman anime is exciting news. Hopefully it will be popular even though it's genre isn't so mainstream.

On another note, any official word on the English manga release? I've found stories about Viz confirming it for release in July but nothing beyond that and no hits in my online manga retailers.

Too soon! That basically means that it's only be like 26 episodes.

I don't even like Death Note.

But I will check this show out. It might be a good watch.

We do know that Viz picked it up for America, saying they'll release it in 2010. They've said it'll run in Shonen Jump (USA), then (presumably) a volume release.

Wow. So many people claiming it as their favorite running series.

Bakuman deserves the love. It's definitely the best thing Jump has introduced for a while.

I've just recently started reading it and it's awesome! Better than anything I've seen or read in a long time(except for Nodame Cantabile - I love them equally).

Goddammit, I looked at it when it came out and I heard some hate so I just forgot about it and as of recently I've been noticing it more and more and now its getting an anime... Now I have to pick it up.
Another one on my list to start, along with Vinland Saga.

Yes, please. I'm particularly excited to see Eiji's manga-drawing in action.

I both regret and do not regret dropping Bakuman the first time I read it. Regret because I am now way behind with the series, but not regretting it because I can take my time to read and enjoy it now.

I was drawn in by the fact that it was the same creators for Death Note and read the first 2 chapters when it was still getting started. But somewhere along the line I dropped it for reasons I can't remember what.

But when I found that it is possibly getting an animated series in the fall, I knew I had to catch up with it before hand.

It's a great in depth look at the hard work and challenges that Mangaka's face on their day-to-day lives. With a clever twist of romance, comedy, and surprisingly epic face-offs that spice up the already intriguing content, I couldn't help but feel a stronger appreciation for the people who bring us these incredible masterpieces almost 24/7 nonstop.

Hopefully I will be completely caught up before the animated series begins it's run, and hope that more people will give it even more recognition in time.
