Now 99% of you have probably never heard of the manga Ghost Rhapsody, but that one percent of you who have should be happy. Because everyone’s favorite anime studio Gainax is most likely adapting this show into an anime. As they say, the proof is in the pudding, and thanks to some great ninjas at AnimeSuki and Gia we now have some proof. Gainax stated that this new show is going to be about music, and take place in England; well that’s Ghost Rhapsody in a nut sell.
This shoujo manga is about a girl who is visited by the ghost of a British rock star, doing things a rock star ghost does; like rock out, and break valuables. Tadashi Hiramatsu stated in his blog that he was working on a Ghost Rhapsody anime adaptation back in 2005; now Tadashi has worked with Gainax in the past, and he also mentions that he has just returned from England. Gia speculates that the director of this project will in fact be Tadashi Hiramatsu.
Now another member of Gainax had returned from England, Akemi Hayaashi. Akemi was the character designer for Fruits Basket and Peacemaker, as well as working on Gunbuster 2 and Gurren Lagann. My interests are perked; let’s see if this pans out.
