Some of you may know Ryuhei Kitamura from his debut work, Versus, or perhaps from his work as director of Godzilla: Final Wars (a true masterpiece). The man's films are about straightforward action, to the point where it reminds me of "a bit of the old ultraviolence." Not that it's a bad thing. Not at all.
So my interest was piqued when I noticed Toronto J-Film Pow-Wow mention that Kitamura is in talks with Our Thing Productions to direct an adaptation of a 1989 short story called Home Delivery, which is about a remote town in Maine battling off zombies brought about by an anomoly from space. Alright, so it's less Shining-esque creepiness and more Dawn of the Dead action, I'm figuring.
Still, it's great to see the man making headway into the Hollywood system. Perhaps Home Delivery will feature a certain website team going on a company vacation, which manages to save the town from the zombies. Hey, you never know.
Also, I already love Japanator, but a zombified crew would be even more awesome!
