S/mileage to star in new Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro film

It has been announced that members of the idol group S/mileage will be appearing in the latest installment of the horror flick Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro. Produced by Andrew Tamon (Tokyo Girl, King's Game), the film will be the 5th chapter of the ongoing cheese-fest series.

The Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro franchise is famous for hiring beloved Japanese celebrities. Previous titles have featured popular performers such as Maki Horikita (U-15) and Erina Mano (Hello! Project). While excellent acting is not exactly the series' forte, Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro has gained notoriety among B-movie fanatics for its great sense of humor and quirky low-budget aesthetic.

Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: Igyou will open in Japanese theaters this upcoming summer.
