Now this comes as a surprise. It turns out that Shout! Factory plans to launch Gekisou Sentai Carranger, the show where Power Rangers Turbo got its footage from, on April 25. Just like their previous releases, if you pre-order it on their Website, you'll receive the series two weeks before the release date.
Obviously, the thing that surprised me was that they didn't announce it during a con or a special streaming event since their previous Sentai releases were revealed through these circumstances. Prior to the news, the show's DVD set listing popped up on Amazon before Shout! Factory was able to spill the beans.
While this announcement felt strange, I'm glad that Ohranger likely sold well enough for them to tackle Carranger. Since I heard that the show's premise about a gang of heroes using the power of Carmagic to battle a gang of evil space bikers lead to a hilariously good time, I'm looking forward having a blast with this series. In fact, the thing that got me interested in the series was that it poked fun at the entire Super Sentai franchise, which likely played a role in it doing better than Ohranger in Japan.
In light of this joyous moment, I think it's time to celebrate with Carranger's second opening theme.
