I always find myself impressed by the Neptunia series, though not in a way that stems from personal enjoyment, as I thought the first game was dreadful (though the second seems to have done better).
Rather, it's the legs Compile Heart's caper has had on it so far. One would think that transparently parodying the console wars with cute-girl anthropomorphization would barely get one past "one-off cheap dating sim" territory, but they've somehow managed to wring three feature-length JRPGs and a manga out of the deal. And now, thanks to an errant scan from the latest issue of Dengeki PlayStation, we can add the world of anime (AnimeIndustri?) to Neptunia's list of conquests.
Besides the announcement itself (rather, the leak) and the above art, we've little concrete info about the series, including studios, release dates, and notable voices. Given the presence of Nep-Nep herself and several of her developer cameo friends, I imagine the series would cover the first game, at minimum. That's a good thing, since given the prospect of not actually having to play Hyperdimension Neptunia, I might be able to see it through to the end!
