School basketball coach forces students to behead pigeons
The news never ceases to amaze with with it's random oddities, and here's a new one. In Kochi, Japan the basketball coach of a public junior high school demanded the team members kill pigeons that were supposably interrupting the team's training. It originally happened back in December, and the coach has since been dismissed from his duties at the school. He admitted to ordering the students to kill the birds by cutting their throats, but only after a teacher at the school had discovered the dead pigeons in a nearby pond. The city's board of education said that the coach had been with the basketball team once a month or so since that April and happened to be practicing at a prefectural high school. Although the coach has now apologized to the students and their parents, the two students are still disturbed over the incident. I guess that's one way to kill two birds with one stone...
