Second season for Unko-San announced

Second season for Unko-San announced photo

I wanted to post this story about the second season of a Flash-animated show primarily so I could complain about the quality of Flash-animated anime; little did I know that the show was about actual poop. Announced Tuesday by Iyasakadou Films, Unko-san (which I suppose could only be translated as Mr. Feces) is getting another round in the form of Unko-san Junjou-ha; the series will begin airing on January 10th on Kansai TV. Anime News Network classifies the show as a scatological comedy, which has just led me to realize how classy the word 'scatological' sounds in comparison to what it actually means.

I've kind of written myself into a corner here, since talking about this show in any detail would probably be in incredibly poor taste, but if you're a glutton for punishment, you can check out the first episode of Unko-san (original series), which is embedded below the jump. To its credit, it's mercifully short at two minutes and thirty seconds. In fairness, it would be rather cute if I could pretend for a moment that the characters weren't talking pieces of excrement.

So, onto things I CAN talk about, how about that Flash-animated anime? Maybe I'm just biased because I don't want to watch a show with animation of inferior quality to something I could make myself, but these shows never do anything for me. Of course, then there's the snobbery factor to consider; is it so wrong for a show to have simple animation, provided that it's entertaining?  That sounded like a really interesting question, but then I watched the first episode of Unko-san, and now I say YES. Yes it is wrong.
