Hope Huke is getting some serious pay for this.
(Now I might have to grab an artbook of his work, whenever that comes out)

If you've ever wanted evidence of the creative feedback loop that powers the best otaku fads, one need look no further than Black Rock Shooter. What started as a single illustration and Vocaloid song (by Huke and ryo of Supercell) has blossomed into a super-character whose figure prices run into the hundreds of thousands of yen and warranted a high-profile 50-minute OVA animation produced by Yutaka Yamamoto (aka Yamakan) and Studio Ordet. Plus mugs!
And now that OVA's on the verge of release to the eager masses, as a special pack-in DVD with new editions of Hobby Magazine, Megami, and Animedia, which hit the shelves later this month. But before that, we have a few new pictures for you to gawp at. Presumably, they'll hit the internet several seconds after that.
Or, you could be a good fan and order a copy of one of the magazines. I hear J-list sells issues of Megami. You interested?
