See what Japan could have become if they won the bid for the 2016 Olympics
by Brad Rice, 10/05/2009

See? This is what Japan could have become if they had won the Olympic bid. A place that was safe for children to run around and play in. No gaijin for the police to bother. A place salarymen could be proud to work in. But no, the IOC has crushed Japan's hopes.

So now what? Akihabara will return to its status as a den of sin and vice, where anime characters are likely to rob you in the blink of an eye. Modernity continues to encroach its way into the Japanese lifestyle, where men looking for that traditional lifestyle must go to brothels to find it.

Japan may be a "developed nation" with the "second largest economy in the world," but they've only just recently pulled themselves out of the post-war mindset! The country has a long while to go. And yet the IOC goes ahead and gives it to Rio de Janeiro.

Figures.
