Sentai Filmworks might land Makoto Shinkai's latest film

Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below is a 116-minute OVA directed by Makoto Shinkai, the man behind the critically-acclaimed animated films Voices of a Distant Star and 5 Centimeters per Second. The movie, released in Japan last year, is a coming-of-age story involving love, music, and a mysterious keepsake that leads a lonely young heroine into a fascinating hidden world.

Due to licensing complications, legally screening Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below in North America has been very difficult in the past. Luckily for Shinkai fans, we just got word that our friends at Sentai Filmworks might have finally managed to land the title. According to a recent article published via Crunchyroll, the company has even registered a web domain for future use in promoting the film.

This is the second time that a licensor has attempted to bring Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below to North America. We will keep you posted as any new developments arise.
