With Michael Jackson's This Is It taking in nearly $200 million world-wide, it's no surprise to me that people are continuing to pay homage to the man, despite his odd behavior in recent years. Japan was no exception, having contributed roughly $27.2 million to that total alone.
Riding on the apparent popularity of his death, Shiina Ringo recently starred in an ad for Watering Kissmint gum where she actually moonwalks. Really, Japan? Maybe it's just me--and don't get me wrong, his early death was kind of a tragedy--but I'm getting tired of seeing, or hearing about him. I get that he impacted so many lives, but at some point, the fad has to stop. At the very least, please try to hold off on moonwalking for a year or two, it's gotten annoying.
