What would you do if met the manliest man ever and to find out that his inner self is beyond girly? If you were that kind of person, would you ever admit it? I am a huge fan of Otomen so it's quite exciting to see that it's getting more attention! Of course, most of us wish that it would have gotten an anime but getting a drama is better than nothing.
The main character in this shoujo manga is precisely that way. Otomen by Kanno Aya is a story about a high school student named Asuka Masamune who does manly things like martial arts. Many students around him thinks he's the coolest person ever and find him to be quite awesome. Little do they know that Asuka is really girly, probably more girly than I will ever be. He loves to read shoujo manga, loves pink and fluffy things, enjoys cooking and sewing, and all those sort of things. What I love about this manga is that Asuka plays the girl and the girl, Ryou Miyakozuka, plays the part of the guy. There's a slight twist to the plot that envolves the third main character, Juta Tachibana, but I rather not say his role in the story. The drama will premiere on August 1st, having Masaki Okada play as Asuka and Kaho as Ryou. While I feel Masaki doesn't really have the manly look down, I'm hoping the drama will be amusing and awesome like the manga.
