Japanator Theater 20: Do the Karate
by Marcus Speer, 02/11/2012
Japanator Theater 20: Do the Karate photo

Recently, I was asked how do I pick my headers each week for Japanator Theater, and honestly, I have no answer. Honestly, I just upload whatever crap is on my computer at the time of editing, whether it be in open tabs from /a/ or screenshots from whatever I'm watching (last week, it was Haibane Renmei).

Music: You probably never heard of this music, anyway... it's too New Wave...

Funny: Me! I'm funny! Hahahahahah

Awesome: ahahahahahahahahahahah

Deo of the Week: Gogogogogogo!

Extra: A new segment I'm adding for all of those not-quite-so-Japanese vids eating away at my Favorites on YouTube.

Not much to it other than that, but I do have a lot of shitty pics on my computer. I'm dumping some in the gallery below so no we all can cringe together.

A Daily Dose of Music: Mami Kawada

A Daily Dose of Music: Mami Kawada photo

Hurray it's Saturday! Today I have a fun new rock song from anime soundtrack maestro, Mami Kawada. Her funky track Serment is currently being used as the opening for Shakugan no Shana III. I'm not sure about the chch imagery in the video, but the director sure liked to present the shots as pretty hardcore. It's Jesus! It's a cross! Rock out!

Erementar Gerad manga to be digitally distributed by DMP
by Salvador G-Rodiles, 02/11/2012
Erementar Gerad manga to be digitally distributed by DMP photo

Oh hey, look at that. One of the many titles that was killed off during Tokyopop's temporary demise is now making a come back. Digital Manga has decided to re-release the manga known as Erementar Gerad in digital form.

To those who are unfamiliar with the manga, Erementar Gerad is about the story of a young sky pirate known as Cou, who ends up getting involved with a mysterious girl known as Ren during one of his usual sky pirating raids. It turns out that Ren is a being known as an Edel Raid. Apparently, the Edel Raids have the power to transform into special weapons, whenever they make a pact with someone. From then on, Cou's life will never be the same, as he embarks on his new journey with Ren.

Erementar Gerad was also adapted into an anime, which I would not recommend watching. Unless you don't mind sitting through a mediocre series (The characters were at least entertaining.). Based on the parts of the manga that I have read, the original seems to have more potential on where the story could go.

You might want to give this manga a shot, if you are into the sky world setting and the concept of humanoid weapons.

It is unfortunate that we won't get an actual physical manga release, since I still prefer the old fashioned way of reading things. Hopefully, DMP will get the chance to complete the story, so that fans of the manga will get to finally own the whole series.

Target goal met: Radiant Historia gets a re-release
by Salvador G-Rodiles, 02/11/2012
Target goal met: Radiant Historia gets a re-release photo

Congratulations Atlus fans (Including myself.), our replies have given Atlus the courage to print more copies of Radiant Historia. Now we will have the opportunity to experience this tale that delivers its own take on the concept of time traveling (For those who missed out on it.).

This is not the first time that Atlus has done something like this, since I remember that they did the same thing with the first Disgaea when it went out of print (In terms of reprinting a game.).

Before I forget, head on over to Amazon and EB Games, if you want to pre-order a copy of Radiant Historia. From the looks of it, this might be an online exclusive thing for now.

Expect the game to start shipping around the month of March, so take advantage of this while still you can. Because you never know if you will get another opportunity like this one ever again (Who knows, these shipments might be in limited quantities.). While it is only $35.99, it's still a better deal compare to paying close to or over a $100.

To my fellow JRPG and Atlus fans that missed out on this title, are any of you going to pre-order a copy of this game (I am definitely picking mine up, since I made a promise to Atlus.)?

US version of Tales of Grace F gets a pre-order bonus
by Salvador G-Rodiles, 02/11/2012
US version of Tales of Grace F gets a pre-order bonus photo

If you are a fan of the Tales of series, then you are in luck. Gamestop is actually offering a pre-order bonus to those who reserve their copy of Tales of Grace F. What you get as a bonus, is a set of alternate costumes for your party members. What makes these costumes special, is that the wardrobe is based off the cast of Tales of Destiny.

While it is very friendly of them to give us a Japanese pre-order that Namco Bandai offered in Japan. You are still not off the hook Namco Bandai, since you refused to localize the enhanced PS3 port of Tales of Vesperia. Yet you gave us the enhanced PS3 port of Eternal Sonata (Don't mind me, just letting out some steam here.). However, perhaps I might forgive you, if you decide to localize Tales of Xillia in the future, along with the PS Vita version of Tales of Innocence

On the bright side, you can't complain with the term free. So I guess it's a nice add on for those who enjoyed Tales of Destiny. You can see the costumes for yourself in the video below.

The Ring returns in 3D
by Hiroko Yamamura, 02/10/2012
The Ring returns in 3D photo

My distant cousin Sadako Yamamura is back, and this time she's coming you in full 3D. I'm pretty excited, as the original The Ring movie is still top of the charts of me. It looks like we might be jumping though the internet on this one instead of through a TV. How will they explain the curse propigatingting with VCRs pretty much extinct at this point? Oh, please don't call the move Ringu to my face. Unlessu youu liku getu punchu.
