By now, the world already knows that the Star Wars and Soul Calibur universes are colliding, but the newest issue of Famitsu reveals another newcomers to videogaming's most epic antique weapon convention. Her name is Angol Fear, and her design comes to us courtesy of Mine Yoshizaki, perhaps best known for his Keroro Gunsou (Sgt. Frog) manga series. As it stands, Angol Fear does apparently have connections to the criminally cute apocalypse-harbinger Angol Moa/Moir of the Keroroverse, though these are still a bit ambiguous - perhaps she's an ancestor? In any case, she does look far more sinister than her relative - though it's interesting to note that even with her prickly nipple-flares and phallic staff, she's still amazingly undersexed compared to much of the other female SCIV cast. Kinda funny, given Mine-sensei's penchant for fanservice and all.
This marks yet another game character design notch in Yoshizaki Mine's belt - he recently handled character art duties for the feminized ships in Konami's Otomedius, and also did artwork for Psikyo's series of Hot Gimmick arcade strip mahjongg titles. As the popularity of Keroro and his other projects continue to grow, we can assuredly look forward to seeing Mine-sensei's brightly colored, cute and cheesecake-y character designs elsewhere in the future.
