I've made it no secret that I'm a huge Spice and Wolf fan, never has economics been so appealing, especially when cute wolf-girls are involved. You can imagine my excitement when I saw that Yen Press was finally going to release the first volume of the light novels.

What I didn't expect was Yen Press changing the cover art to appeal to more western audiences.



But wait! There's more. If you purchase the December volume of Yen Press' anthology Yen Plus they will include a free slip cover featuring the orignal art.



While I have no problem with anybody reaching out for a little bit of extra cash, did it have to be so ugly? Maybe my economics isn't that great, but wouldn't something more simple appeal to an even broader audience?
