That said, the average salary of a US Designer is about 70k; Programmer 90k. The Square Enix average is over twice the US average... that's pretty substantial.
Square, I one day desire to be just like you.
Square Enix employees are making the big bucksSpend all day making internationally adored video games while making more money than anyone else in the country. Sounds like the perfect job to me. According to Tokyo Shoko Research, Square Enix employees are the best-paid staff in Japan. On average, each employee makes 17.9 million yen a year (that's $209,000 in dollars). And these employees are relatively young to be making so much money, with an average age of just 41.2. Personally, if I worked at Square Enix I wouldn't mind being paid in G, gil, or even XP. And I'm sure for employees who love the video games they help to produce, the fat paycheck is just icing on the cake. [Thank you, Ko!] Did you know? Legacy Comments (will be imported soon)Game development, especially Japanese game development, has to be some of the most rigorous "office work" out there. Just in the States, the industry sees huge turnover due to burnout.

See, that's funny, 'cause all Square has to do is crap out belts and zippers now and slap the title Final Fantasy on it somewhere, doesn't even have to be part of the numeric series anymore, and then Square-Enix will have money to wipe their asses with.
Square, I one day desire to be just like you. and they all deserve it... what whould i be doing right now if there were no FF games.... work? lamo 11:00 AM on 05.18.2013 Go West!
