Square Enix unveils browser-based game Crystal Conquest

Mar 30 // Michelle Rodanes

Last night, Square Enix unveiled its latest browser-based game. Titled Crystal Conquest, the title will be a massively multiplayer strategy game designed to run via Yahoo! Japan. The main goal of the game is to cooperate with other players in stealing crystals from opposing factions. Brawls can grow as large as 20 vs. 20 battles, with players engaging in melee combat and summoning monsters in real-time.

According to a recently released teaser trailer, Crystal Conquest will feature artwork by Yusuke Naora (Final Fantasy X, Lufia: Curse of the Sinistrals) and Masaki Hirooka, a talented illustrator best known for this work on Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. The title is scheduled for release this summer, but Square Enix will be holding an alpha test this upcoming April 10th. Some 10,000 lucky applicants will be able to get a first look at the game.
