Star Driver was one of those shows that I was really enjoying, but for one reason or another got pulled away from. I've been meaning to go back to it ever since, the problem being that I'm easily distracted. I think I dropped off with something like two episodes left.

A while back Bones announced they were developing a Star Driver film and it looks like they're finally ready to start spilling some details on the project. The official movie website has revealed a Japanese release date of February 9, 2013. The key visual image for the film has also gone up and it looks badass as all hell.

In the introduction section of the site, the staff stresses that this is a "new construction"; a new vision of the series and its characters. It sounds to me like this is more than just a simple clip show and more of a full blown film remake. Despite having not finished the series, Star Driver is a show that could probably benefit greatly from having some of the fat taken off. Hopefully as we get closer to the theatrical release, we'll know exactly what they were aiming for. You can bet your sweet potatoes that I'll be there opening day.
